Claros Project is always looking for more contribution and involvement from free software community. Please bear in mind that Claros is an open source project, dedicated to providing an easy-to-use personal information suite with state-of-the-art Web 2.0 features.

Here you can find a list of project proposals you can get involved in Claros development.

Coding and patching

Before submitting a patch, remember that Claros license is CPL. This means that you are contributing to an open source project, and your patches will be included in the next release. Thus, please respect the copyright of others and make sure that you are giving away your own work.

Before sending patches or code snippets, be sure that the author, the date of the contribution and the license is well mentioned and clear.

Documentation

Claros Project always welcomes documentation writers. This does not mean writing a book or a big administrators guide - even small contributions will make Claros Project more visible for end users. Here's what you can do:

  • Help create a documentation standard for Claros
  • Translate the documentation in your own language. Please ask for assistance if you need a seperate web page for this.
  • Read existing documentation and suggest modifications and corrections
  • Provide screenshots for Claros in many languages
  • Prepare a Claros inTouch video at Youtube

Translation

If you would like to help us for translating Claros for your own language, please let us know, so that your name can be added to the official translators list.

Claros Forums

If you'd like to get more information about Claros, the best place to start interacting with users and developers is forums. Please click here to see a current list of forum topics and information on how to subscribe. Meanwhile, you can work with Claros and be a part of Claros community while supporting others with their problems using Claros.

In forums, you can:

  • Answer questions
  • Help other people learn how to use Claros
  • Write small tutorials, HOWTOs and regularly post them

Bug Tracker

Claros bug tracker system can be found on Sourceforge. In order to file a bug, wishlist or a feature reqest, you need a username and a password which can be taken from the same address.

Please note that, we will politely ask for some reference projects and some personal information regarding your past experience, we hope you understand this concern and give us as much information as possible to match you to the best appropriate position. Claros Mini Installation,

Claros Mini install instructions are very simple and straight-forward.

  1. Drop mini.war into webapps directory at Tomcat
  2. Start Tomcat
  3. Edit the config.xml file, follow the instructions.
  4. Restart tomcat

That's it. You can access the Claros Mini interface with your PDA/Mobile Phone or any other Small Screen Device at :

http://your.domain.com:8080/mini/

If you want to test it before deploying to production, you can download Opera Browser from http://www.opera.com and use the Shift + F11 shurtcut...
